Highlighted Finish

The term highlight refers to the method used when a raised area on a metal product (such as a medal or a plaque) is polished but the background is matte. This creates a 2 tone effect and can make certain details stand out more. Highlighted finish sometimes is referred to as negative proof or reversed proof finish.
