Specifications

Etched medals:

• Are cut from 4 mm thick brass sheets.

• Are circular in shape.

• Have a range of sizes most common being (diameter in mm): 35, 40, 50, 60, 70 and 75. Smaller and larger diameters are available too.

• Have a two dimensional embossed or recessed impression. Any design can be rendered. 2D medals are etched using 2D black and white (inked) artwork which includes usually your message (text) and logo (drawing); black areas are rendered as recessed and white areas as embossed. The result of using such artwork is a 2 dimensional low relief medal with only two levels on the medal's surface.

• Are single or double-faced.

• Can be with or without color filling. Color-filled medals must be etched in recess (sunken relief, where black areas of the design are etched in recess and can be color-filled.

Brass Medals

• Brass medals have natural brass color with light brownish shadows, achieved by cold patinas where brass medals are dipped into a chemical solution. They can also be ordered to be nickle-plated instead.

• You can select between three different types of surface-finishing: satin, matte and brilliant.

Bronze Medals

• Bronze medals have brownish color, achieved by cold patinas where brass medals are dipped into a chemical solution.

• You can select between two different types of surface-finishing: highlighted or matte.

Silver-plated Medals

• Silver-plated medals are plated with silver and can be produced with or without antique patina.

• You can select between three different types of surface-finishing: highlighted, matte or brilliant.

Gold-plated Medals

• • Gold-plated medals are plated with 24k gold.

  • You can select between three different types of surface-finishing: highlighted, matte or brilliant.

When your quantity is high, it is recommended that you order minted medals rather than etched.
